Weekend Reading: Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman
One of your best friends is a woman whose IQ is off the charts…
Is she more likely to marry someone who’s her intellectual equal, someone smarter than she is or someone who’s not quite as bright?
What’s your answer?
Why?
Now ask a friend the same question.
They’re likely to answer based on their inherent cognitive bias and then make up a story to justify their answer.
For example: She’s more likely to marry someone smarter than she is. She’s always saying smart equals sexy.
or
She's a little insecure. She's going to find a dummy she can dazzle.
In reality, her mate’s IQ will likely be lower than hers.
Why?
