Neurobiological researchers have reported beneficial effects of lifelong learning on the brain, including the prevention of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).
This brief summary is interesting. At nearly 69, I am encouraged as I am certainly in the category of lifelong learner. However, I am planning on purchasing your Novel Nephilim first. I always enjoy reading your weekly tips.
This might be an example of “use it or lose it” in action. Comparing the brain to a muscle, we need to keep it limber and exercised. If we don’t work the mind, doesn’t it fall into habits and go on autopilot?
Watching my parents age, I feel like the autopilot problem and habitual behaviours repeated daily are the things that are leading to their mental decline. Lack of curiosity, no new learning happening. Just the same old same old.
